Funny how things come full circle.

Last week, I returned to Swinburne University of Technology as a panelist for this year’s Honours trial interviews, alongside fellow alum Felix Barnett and the brilliant Nicki Wragg, who (fun fact) once had the joy of marking my assignments. 🤣

We spent the morning hearing from emerging designers as they talked through their folios, philosophies, and the occasional existential design crisis (we’ve all been there). And I’ve got to say, I left so impressed. Thoughtful. Brave. Some made me wish I’d thought of it first.

Coming back to Swin will always mean a lot to me. It’s where I learned how to think deeply, create with intent, and back my ideas (even when it felt uncomfortable). Seeing that same spark in the next wave of designers was a full-circle reminder of where I’ve come from. Also helps when you have pals on the other panels too hehe Dan Truong & Charlotte Tiong. ☺️

Big thanks to Nicki Wragg and SoDA Swinburne for having me back. I left feeling equal parts nostalgic, proud, and reassured that the future of design is in very good hands.
