AI Innovation

Thrilled to share that our team won the Alibaba Cloud Challenge at the AI NextGen 2025 Hackathon! 🏆 MLAI

The context?

I teamed up with 4 incredible innovators to build 'OpenRoom', an AI tool designed to make hospital discharge summaries faster, safer, and smarter. The goal? To cut down admin for healthcare workers so they can focus on treating patients, while AI takes care of the discharge process. That means more hospital rooms opening up sooner for the people who need them most. 🏥

💡With just one week, a sea of 170+ participants, and a group of strangers turned teammates, we combined sleek UX/UI with a robust AI back end to reimagine hospital bottlenecks as design opportunities.

For me, the highs included:

⭐️ Partnering with a powerhouse 3-person dev team (Pragun R, Emmanuel Berkowicz, Pete Argent 🏳️‍🌈) who carried the heavy lift to get our prototype up and running in under a week.

⭐️ Teaming up with UX thinker (Rebecca Hwang) to sharpen flows, centre accessibility and keep users front of mind.

⭐️ Leaning on my UI and branding toolkit to whip up a quick and clear visual system for a complex space.

⭐️ Diving into healthcare innovation, reconnecting with purpose-led creativity, and building something that could truly ease hospital pressure.

The best part?

We’ve now advanced to the next stage: pitching 'OpenRoom' to 15+ AI tech investors this Friday. The team and I are refining our product design and AI functionality, so stay tuned 👀

Huge thanks to the organisers, and to my mentor and friend Pete Argent 🏳️‍🌈 for encouraging me to join. And of course, to my team for the grit, smarts and laughs that got us here. 🙌
