Denise Whitehouse Honours Research Award Recipient

I’m very excited to share that I received Swinburne’s “Denise Whitehouse Honours Research Award” at the Swinburne University of Technology Graduate Exhibition. This was awarded for my ISTD research project in my final year of my Communication Design (honours) degree. 📄🔎

My research undertaken was semiotic analysis of feminist identity, inspired by Betty Friedan’s revolutionary book “The Feminine Mystique”. I had a particular focus on how feminists have historically leveraged typographic application in protest paraphernalia to mobilise activism.

I want to say a massive thank you to the faculty at Swinburne for supporting me on my journey, you have all been such incredible mentors. Congratulations to my fellow award recipients Adorel Ng, Katerina Hionis and Charlotte Tiong !

If you want to see how my final research artefact turned out, I’ve attached the link below! It’s called “ON HER SHOULDERS” youtube.com/watch?v=L7CZ3HZltRI&feature=youtu.be
