Project Description
This project, completed during my honours year at Swinburne, was my final research thesis. The challenge: Respond to the question, “How might we use food to engage people with Italian immigrant culture in Australia?” The approach: I created Voglio Caffè, a culturally immersive coffee brand to preserve Italo-Australian history. The product packaging utilised traditional drinking customs to craft a sensory journey that tells stories of diversity and multiculturalism through the ritualistic, lived experience of “Italianità” (Italian Spirit). The result: The project incorporated packaging, branding, and digital media outputs to educate through user experience. It was shortlisted by the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) in 2023 for student packaging design. A result to make the nonni proud.
